If you were to trade a Pokemon with a Pokemon from a game of a different language, you would have just have a regular Pokemon, except for its name. However, in Diamond and Pearl, there are certain Pokemon that will have alternative Pokedex entries if you receive them in a trade from a foreign language game.

On Route 226 to fill players in about this feature is a Hiker who will trade a German Magikarp for a Finneon. Go to the Pokedex entry for Magikarp and you will be able to switch between the different languages the entry appears in.

Below is a list of all Pokemon effected by this. You must get these Pokemon from forgein language copy of Diamond or Pearl, or from a friend who did the former.
