Manaphy is like the Mew / Celebi / Jirachi of Diamond and Pearl. It is an event Pokemon, and not physically obtainable in the two games. You can however obtain it by putting on your game from Pokemon Ranger, or trading with someone who has it. Question is, how does one get Manaphy?

Step One: You will need two Nintendo DS's for this to work, and a completed copy of Pokemon Ranger and a copy of either Diamond or Pearl.

Step Two: In Pokemon Ranger, hold down R, X, and <- (D-Pad) to access a new option in Ranger Net, the Password feature.

Step Three: Enter the password "P8M2-9D6F-43H7"

Step Four: Access the Special Missions list, and select the "Rescue the Egg" mission from it. Complete the mission

Step Five: On Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, make sure your saved game starts in a Pokemart.

Step Six: Turn on both DS's (D/P in one, Ranger in the other). With the Wireless Function, you can transmit the Egg over to D/P. A new menu should appear asking you to receive Manaphy, along with instructions. Follow them and Manaphy will now be on your game.

Step Seven: At the Poke-mart, talk to the man by the counter and he will give you Manaphy's egg.

So now that you've completed the steps for Manaphy, now what? Set your Poketch screen to the counter and wallk around for about 3,000 steps and it'll transform into a level 1 Manaphy.

Now that Manaphy is hatched, there is something else you can do: Breed it! Manaphy is the first legendary to have the ability to breed, but its offspring can't transform back into it. Just place Manaphy in the day-care with a Ditto, and the eggs it will produce will all contain Phione--a weaker version of Manaphy.

Toys 'R' Us stores across America are giving away Manaphy!

Quick Summary:
What is it?: Nintendo Event
When is it?: 12pm to 3pm on September 29th, 2007
Where is it?: Toys 'R' Us toy stores
Who is given away?: Manaphy

At Toys 'R' Us's across America the Water-type Pokemon Manaphy will be given away from noon to 3PM. This Manaphy, unlike the one obtained in Pokemon Ranger, will not come in an egg, but rather the Cherish Ball. It will also be holding a Red Scarf item.

Congradulations to those who received Manaphy! For those of you who did not get around to getting Manaphy, here is a quick rundown of what happened:

When you turn your game on near the game department of the store, you would get message explaining a new Mystery Gift is available. Then, you would select "Mystery Gift" from the main menu and then select "Gift from Wireless." Manaphy would be then downloaded to your game and a "This MANAPHY is to celebrate the release of Pokemon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea" message. You would then proceed to the Pokemart and talk to the man in green to receive your Manaphy if you had room in your party.

Manaphy is at Level 50 when you receive it and is inside a Cherish Ball with the Red Scarf as its held item. It knows the attacks Heart Swap, Water Pulse, Acid Armor, and Whirlpool. When you check to where it was found, it would say "Fateful Encounter" similar to Mew.
