Within FireRed & LeafGreen are certain Pokemon that can only be
obtained once in the game and require breeding or trading to obtain
more of them. Here is every Pokemon that can only be found once in the
game.
You can only pick one of the three above from Professor Oak. Whatever one you pick is the one your stuck with. You'll have to trade for the other two.
![]()
Next to the Saffron City Gym is the fighting Dojo. If you defeat the
leader of the Dojo, he will let you pick between Hitmonchan and
Hitmonlee. You can only pick one. Breed whatever you get to get the
other one, and maybe two others you didn't know you would get.
![]() Lapras can be given to you by a man in Sylph after you defeat your rival. It is at Level 15/25. You can also find Lapras on Island 4, but they are so rare that Lapras is considered a one-time Pokemon.
![]() At the top of the Celadon City Mansion is a small school room. Inside, on a table is an Eevee at Level 25. Grab it and it is yours.
![]() At the very end of Mt. Moon Tunnel is a Super Nerd who will not give up his fossils. Defeat him, and he'll let you have one. The Dome fossil contains Kabuto, while the Helix contains Omanyte. Take the fossil to Cinnabar Island's Research Facility and have a man there revive it.
![]() Behind the counter of the Pewter City Museum is a scientist waiting to have an item called "Old Amber" examined and revived. Talk to him, and he lets you have the amber. Take the amber to Cinnabar Island's Research Facility and have a man there revive it to get Aerodactyl.
![]() Now while there are two of these Pokemon, there are only two chances to capture one. One is located east of Vermillion, and the other is located west of Celadon City. Use the Pokeflute item to wake them from their slumber and they'll attack.
![]() Deep within the tunnels and rooms of Seaform Island rests Articuno. One of the legendary trio, it is hard to capture so be ready. It is at Level 50 and Ice/Flying.
![]() Zapdos has made its home in the Abandoned Power Plant which can be
found near the entrance to Rock Tunnel. It is one of the Legendary
Trio, so it is hard to capture. It is at Level 50 and Electric/Flying.
![]() Moltres, no longer residing in Victory Road, has flew to Mt. Ember's peak, located on Sevii Island 1. One of the legendary trio, it is hard to capture so be ready. It is at Level 50 and Fire/Flying.
![]() Mewtwo awaits challengers somewhere in the Unknown Dungeon (now
called Cerulean Cave). The strongest of all Pokemon is at Level 70 and
it is recommended to use your only Master Ball on it, although it can
be caught with other means. ![]() Togepi, or is egg acutally, is given to you by a gentlemen in the Water Labyrinth located on Island 5. Whatever Pokemon you have in your first slot should have maximum happiness.
After defeating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Pokedex, one
of the three legendary beasts will be roaming around Kanto. Depending
on who you chose for a starter depends on what beast you will
encounter. The beast will have a type advantage over your starter.
![]()
The only way to find these rare Pokemon is to obtain a promotional item
from Nintendo that is put into your game via e-reader. This new ticket
item will allow you to travel to Navel Rock where these two reside. You
can find and capture both there at Level 70.
![]() Like the above two birds, Deoxys can only be obtained via a special promotional ticket. This new ticket lets you go to Birth Island and find Deoxys at Level 30. Your version depends on how strong he is and how he appears. |
