Return to Walkthru | Go on to Part 3

Route 32

Pokemon: Rattata, Zubat (Night), Bellsprout, Mareep, Wooper, Hoppip (Morning), Ekans, Tentacool (fish), Magikarp (Fish)

Head south of Violet to hit R. 32. You'll see a man, and he gives you Miracle Seed if you talk to him. From this point on the whole route goes straight down. You'll come to a man who wants to sell you a Slowpoke tail. You can't even if you have the money, so go behind the Poke-Center in the trees and press A. You'll find a hidden great ball.

Continue into the Center and heal your Pokemon. Talk to the man in green and he gives you an Old Rod. You can now fish at bodies of water! Exit and head down again and enter the cave

Union Cave

Pokemon: Geodude, Zubat, Sandshrew (Gold), Onix, Rattata

The first floor of the cave is straight forward. If you see a ladder, bet not to take it now. There are several dead ends, so just backtrack and keep going until you find the exit.

Route 33

Pokemon: Rattata, Zubat (Night), Hoppip

Not much here except for Pokemon, a lone trainer, and Slowpoke well. Continue on to the next town.

Alezea Town & Slowpoke Well

Find the center and heal yuor Pokemon. Find the Mart and buy some Pokeballs and Potions or any other needed items. Now, right on the left side exit of town is a small house. Enter and talk to the man in black. WHen he leaves, return to Route 33 and head down the well that was once blocked by the Rocket.

Talk to Kurt. Head up the path and fight the rockets and then grab the Super Potion. Keep going and you'll find the last rocket who has a L. 14 Koffing. When you defeat him, Kurt returns and offers his services to you.

Leave Kurt's home and enter the gym. The trainers use Big Pokemon, so Fire, Flying, or Rock-types knowing similar moves are key here.

Bugsy
Pokemon: Metapod L. 14, Kakuna L. 14, Scyther L. 16
Prize: TM49, Hivebadge

Metapod and Kakuna both know offensive moves, so don't pit a low level Pokemon against them hoping to level them up. Scyther can give you some problems too due to its speed, and the move Fury Cutter. Fire-type attacks or Flying-type attacks will work good against all three, as well as Rock-type attacks.

Now, head for the center and heal up. Then, head west out of town and you'll be challenged by your rival.

???
Pokemon: Ghastly L. 12, Zubat L. 14, Croconaw/Quilava/Bayleef L. 16
Prize $500

This battle can be hard if you're not prepared. Gastly is weak to Ground, Ghost, or Psychic type moves. Rock moves do just as well.

Zubat is weak to Electric, so if you nabbed a Mareep this would be a good time to use it.

As for his starter, attack like a crazed housewife.

Now, its time to move on to Ilex Forest.
