Head for the black tower near the train station when you get into town. You might want to heal and bring along some restorative items. When you enter, head right, defeat the Rocket and go up the stairs. On the next floor, just head left and you'll only have to fight 3 of the Rocket guards. On the next floor, head down as far as you can, then right all the way. Up as far as you can go, then left. You'll only have to fight the scientist and 1 Rocket if you do this. Take the stairs to the next floor. On the next floor, you can get past the rotating guard if you watch his movements. When he faces right, pass him quickly. Head for the next floor. You'll be confronted with the Radio Tower director... who turns out to be an imposter! You'll have to fight him and his armada of Koffings. When you defeat him, he'll give you a key. Return to the Golden Rod Pokecenter. At the Pokecenter, heal up. From the center, head north unto you reach the gym. Then, take a left and enter the small hut with a sign in front of it. Go down the stairs behind the man, and defeat the two trainers here. Head right down the small hallway and use the Basement Key on the door. Enter and head down the stairs to the basement. Head left and you'll be confronted by your rival.
??? Persistant, isn't he? Golbat and Haunter will fall to Electric-type or Rock-type moves. Fire or Ground-type attacks on Sneasel. Pick on his starters weakness.
Now that your rival is gone, head all the way left defeating the Rockets as you go. at the very end on the wall is a blue panel. Turn it on. Go right a little bit and do the same to the one the wall, and the the other one right where you came in. This opens all the doors in this room. Head all the way back left, and work down through the small maze of walls. Pick up any items you see. At the end you'll see a female Rocket and a door. Defeat her and enter the door. There is a small, linear (one-way) maze. If you take the stairs, you'll find an Amulet Coin. Work through the maze until you come to a Rocket and a Man in a suit. Grap the TM and talk to the man in the suit. He'll give you a keycard. Return to where the female Rocket was and press A on the blue panel. It will open the doors back up for you. Return to the Pokecenter. Heal up at the center and return to the Radio Tower. On the third floor, you'll see a strange 'bridge' like object blocking a small hallway. At the top of this object is a small slot. Use the keycard on it. Fight the rocket and take the stairs. The next two floors are very straight forward. At the top, you'll be confronted by 2 Rocket Executives. One has Vileplume, Murkrow, and Arbok. The otherhas two Houndour and a Houndoom. When you defeat them, the Director will appear and give you a Silver Wing (Silver) or a Raindow Wing (Gold) depending on your version. Now that you have completed Radio Tower, you can head onto Blackthorn city. Fly to Mahogany and head east.
Pokemon: Remoraid, Magikarp, Poliwag, Lickitung, Bellsprout, Weepinbel, Tangela Head east until you come to a cave enterance. Before entering, you'll want to surf across the lake and catch Lickitung and Tangela. On the east side of the lake near the cave is a fisherman. Battle him and talk to him afterwards. He'll call you want Remoraid are biting in the lake. Nothing left here except for some trainers. Enter the cave.
Pokemon: Jynx, Delibird, Swinub, Zubat, Golbat This cave is a real pain. Before entering, bring a Pokemon that knows Strength. Starting off, head right until you come to an icy floor. On this one, just head right, down, right, down until your off of it.
Walk around to the large ice floor. It is a bit difficult so step onto the path and : go up, left, down, left, up, right, up, and right. You'll find yourself in the upper-right corner. From there go down, left, up, left,
down, right, down, right, up, and right to left the floor. Walk right a bit and you'll find another ice floor. On this one, go right, up, right, down, right, down, right, up, left, down, left, up, and right. You'll find yourself at the HM07 pokeball. Grab it, slide all the wal left then down. Head up the stairs on the small mound. Head right, down the stairs, and then down the ladder. On the next floor, use the map below to push the boulders into the correct hole. Jump down the hole after you push the final one in. You'll land on one of its side. Move up/right/left to the next one and over/up until you reach the small patch in the middle with the latter. On the next floor, head right all the way then left on the other side of the rocks to get the slide down the ice floor. Walk left and line yourself up with the stairs and go up. Walk across to the other stairs. Head down and go to the next floor. Another ice path on this floor. Go down, right, up, left, up, left, down, left to proceed. In the final room, just slide across the ice to exit this cave.
Not much here. There is a house here towards Route 46 that is home to the Move Deleter. He will delete any move from your Pokemon's list, especially HM moves. Visit him if your Pokemon knows an unwanted HM move. The gym is located in the northern part of town. Be sure to bring an Ice Pokemon or two (or Pokemon that know said moves) and one that knows Strength. If you don't, head to Goldenrod and buy the Ice Punch TM from the Department Store. Teach it to a high level Pokemon that is able to learn it.
This gym uses Dragon Pokemon, so that's why Ice Punch is needed. The gym is like the previous area in Ice Path. On the second floor, you'll need to push boulders into the into the holes to make a path to Clair. The boulder is near the hole, so no real guide is needed. When all the boulders are in the hole, return to the entrance and navigate through the gym and talk to Clair.
Clair When you fight her, and you use Gyarados, do not send your Gyarados out against her second Dragonair as it knows Thunderbolt. Icy Wind, Ice Punch, or Ice Beam are good moves to use on the Dragonairs regardless. As for Kingdra, it would be best to poison it, paralyze it, or put it to sleep then slam it with powerful moves.
Clair is arrogant, however: she will not give you the badge. She'll have you go behind the gym in Dragon's Den and find an item inside.
Pokemon: Magikarp, Dratini, Dragonair Inside, you'll be a large cavern (after you go down the ladders). Go to the water, surf left then down to the whirlpool. Use the move Whirlpool here. Go behind the shrine and up onto the long strip of land. Grab the Pokeball and Clair will appear and give you your badge and a TM. Leave, and Elm will call you. Fly to New Bark Town.
