Giratina is now the mascot for Pokemon Platinum, which means as with all mascots, it will gain a prominent role in the upcoming game. Giratina will have two formes, the Another (as seen in DP) and the Origin formes (as seen on the cover).

Unlike in Diamond and Pearl, Giratina will not reside in Turnback Cave. Instead, Giratina makes its home in the alternative world known as the Torn World. In this world, Giratina appears in its Orgine Forme and is at level 47, much lower than its DP counterpart. Giratina, however, will change to its Another forme whenever it leaves the Torn World.

Giratina's Origin Forme will be of the same type, but will have the Levitate ability. Like Dialga and Palkia before it, its starting moveset will consist of Omnious Wind, AncientPower, Dragon Claw, and Shadow Force.

Since Shaymin has an item that will allow it to alternate between its two formes, it is unknown is such an item or idea will be implemented for Giratina. Players are certain to favor the new forme and would most like to use it outside the Torn World.

In the story, Giratina will most likely leave the Torn World and enter Sinnoh when Cyrus draws both Dialga and Palkia onto Spear Pillar. It is speculated that after this, the player may enter the Torn World and confront Giratina.
