Pocket Monsters Green was the original Pokemon in Japan, along with Pocket Monsters Red. They were released together in Japan; everywhere else they were released as Red and Blue. Pocket Green has some significant differences between it and its American counterpart, Pokemon Blue. The pages below are information that only really applies to the Japanese version.

Pocket Monsters Red is essentially the same as Green.

Months after the original Pocket Monsters were released, a tweaked version was released. This version contained updated Pokemon sprites, altered catch rates, and a handful of other things were changed as well.
