MissingNo. and 'M are similar glitch Pokemon found in the original games. Rather interesting Pokemon, too, despite being glitches.
MissingNo. has Water Gun, Water Gun, and Sky Attack in its moveset when you capture it. Not only that, is is the Bird/Normal type, not Flying/Normal like other bird Pokemon. This could mean that the Flying type ws known as the Bird type, although it is not 100% and is just a guess. A guess to why Flying type was chosen over Bird might be because there are several Pokemon known as"Bird Pokemon" and having a type known as "Bird" would be a bit confusing.
![]() But how does one go about getting this Pokemon? Here is how to go about finding either one of these.
In order to do this, you must have: When you obtain all four, teach Fly and Surf to a Pokemon you do not plan on training (Spearow, Tentacool, etc). Fly to Pallet Town. From there, surf south until you reach Cinnabar Island. Fly to Viridian City. Remember the guy who wanted his Coffee? He's up near the enterance to Route 2. Talk to him and say NO. Fly back to Cinnabar and head east. When you reach the shoreline, use surf and surf up and down. After surfing here for a bit, you should run into a Pokemon called "MISSINGNO." or one called "'M". 'M is usually at level 0, while MissingNo. appears at level 80 or level 132. You can capture them if you like, as there is a great chance they will not mess up your game data. You can fight them if you like, as they reward 2000-5000 EXP fr defeating them. They are like Magikarp, and are hardly a threat unless you use a Rock/Ground/Grass Pokemon against them. The good thing about running into the two glitch Pokemon is what they do to your 6th item slot. It turn whatever that item is into 127 of that item. You can do this for Masterballs, Rare Candies, Full Restores, etc and have 127 of each. The bad thing about that is that it will give you 127 of Key items as well; so don't put key items in the 6th slot. Now, there is a bad side to running into them. The bad thing about the two is they will scramble your Hall of Fame data and it is forever messed up. MissingNo. and 'M aren't the only Pokemon found along the coast of Cinnabar. Pokemon from the previous route/cave/building you visited will spawn here as well. Sometimes, you will find other Pokemon well over level 100 here, like Golduck, Starmie, and Weezing. Others claim to see Abra, Kadabra, Rhydon, Clefable, Chansey, Nidoking, Mewtwo, and Mew here as well.
