Route 3

Pokemon: Pidgey, Spearow, Jigglypuff

From the Pewter Gym, heal at the Poke-Center and buy any needed items from the shop. From here, head east.

There are alot of trainers in route 3, but their Pokemon are fairly the same. Females use normals and flyings, Males use bug and poison. Use type advantages to win.

Continue on their linear path and you'll come across a Poke-Center. Heal, and if you want, buy the Magikarp! Its weak at first, but at level 20 it evolves into the almighty Gyarados. Save and head for the cave next door

Mount MooN

Pokemon: Paras, Zubat, Geodude, Celfairy

Head upwards. To yuor left is the Water Gun TM, and right takes you on your way. Head right, then north, then west, south, west again, and north again. You should wind up ina large room with a guy in front of a ladder. Take the ladder and follow the paths.

The next area is very linear. Right avoiding the first Rocket as his Raticate is deadly, very deadly if you take him as small fish. Contiue on intil you find the next Rocket. After he goes down, a Super Nerd will challenge you.

------------------

Super Nerd
Pokemon: Grimer L. 12, Voltorb L. 12, Koffing L. 12
Prize: Dome or Helix Fossil, $298

Easiest way to beat him is to use Bide. You'll get hit, then you'll unleash energy 2x that and will most likely kill your foe. Heal and repeat.

------------------

Take either fossil. One will be Omanyte the other is Kabuto. Follow the path out.

Route 4

Pokemon: Ekans/Sandshrew, Rattata, Spearow

Nothing is really here except for the TM04 and wild Pokemon. Continue on to Cerulean City.

Cerulean City

Heal at the Poke-Center and buy needed items from the Mart. Save and head up towards nugget bridge. Your rival will appear for a battle.

------------------

Gary
Pokemon: Pidgeotto L. 18, Abra L. 15, Rattata L. 15, Charmander/Bulbasaur/Squirtle Lv. 17
Prize: $595

Pidgetto can be taken down with lighting, but he's fast too. Abra and Rattata are jokes and a Mega Punch can take them out with one hit. As with his starter, use its weakness.

------------------

Route 24

Pokemon: Pidgey, Abra, Bellsprout/Oddish, Caterpie, Metapod, Weedle, Kakuna

R. 24 contains Nugget Bridge. On this bridge are 5 trainers. Defeat them and you get a prize. Their Pokemon range from poison, bug, flying, normal, and fighting. Flying and electric will do well here. If you defeat them all, a Rocket gives you a nuggry hoping you'll join him. You don't have a choice really and your forced to fight. He goes down easily because all Rockets have similar Pokemon.

Be sure to grab TM45 up north, and head south a little to the strip of grass to find wild Abra. They can be really good if trained right. Return to where TM45 was but head east. The trainers here use alot of rocks, normals and flyings, and can be taken out easily with leaf and electric Pokemon. There is a guy blocking a TM ball. Walk up to him from afar and he'll move, allowing you to get it.

Keep going on and you'll see a house. Go inside and "talk" to the Pokemon. You find out it is Bill. Do as he says and he'll give you the SS Ticket for the SS Anne. (Which is funny, because in 1997 most ships no longer ran on steam. SS means "Steam Ship".) Follow the southern path back to Cerulean.

Cerulean Gym

Before coming here, heal, save, and buy need items at the mart. Once in the gym, you'll find out its water. Leaf and electric Pokemon work wonders here. That is if they are high enough in strength.

Make your way to Misty. She is can be hard if you take her Pokemon lgihtly.

------------------

Misty
Pokemon: Staryu L. 18, Starmie Lv. 21
Prize: Cascadebadge, TM11, $2079

If you managed to catch a Pikachu and raised it right, it can take down her Staryu in two hits. Starmie can be troublesome with its Bubblebeam attack, so you may have to use another Pokemon. Otherwise, heal your Pokemon when needed and attack with electric and leaf attacks.

------------------

Now with two gyms down, there is six more to go, so...
