The following Pokemon can only be obtained once throughout the course of Ruby or Sapphire, unless you breed to get more. Methods for getting them are listed here as well. Like with Gold/Silver, you have a 1/8000 chance of running into a Shiny Pokemon during your wild encounters. A shiny is an alternative coloring to it. Very rare to find.

At the very beginning, you'll be asked you help out Professor Birch by using either Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip. Depending on who you choose to help him will be your starter throughout the game.

Somewhere in the Route 111 desert are two fossils. Take the one you choose to the second floor of the Devon building and speak with one of the researchers to have him revive it. The Root Fossil will get you Lileep and the Claw Fossil gets you Anorith.

Near the Lavaridge Springs is an old woman wanting to get rid of a Pokemon egg. If you have an extra slot in your party, she will give it to you. Walk around a while and it will hatch into Wynaut.

While Clamperl is easy to find, its evolutions aren't. When you take the scanner to a researcher on board the old shipwreck near Dewford, he will offer a Deep Sea Tooth or Deep Sea Scale in return. You can only choose one. If you attach the tooth to a Clamperl and trade it, you'll get Huntail. If you trade a Clamperl with the Scale attached, it will elolve into Gorebyss.

After defeating the Elite Four for the first time, head for Steven's house in Mossdeep City. Inside on the table is a Pokeball addressed to you. It contains a Level 5 Beldum. If you have an extra slot in your party you can have it.

After completing the sidequest to unlock the Regi's doors, Regirock can be found in the shrine located in Route 111. It is at Level 40.

After completing the sidequest to unlock the Regi's doors, Regice can be found in the shrine located in Route 105. It is at Level 40.

After completing the sidequest to unlock the Regi's doors, Registeel can be found in the shrine located in the lowest part of Route 120. It is at Level 40.

Once defeating the Elite Four, you can watch a news broadcast on TV about a Pokemon flying around Hoenn. If you're playing Sapphire, Latias will now appear randomly in the wild. If you're playing Ruby, Latios will randomly appear randomly in the wild. They are both at Level 40.

If you have a special event ticket, you can find the other Latis at Level 50 on Southern Island.

In Sapphire, after awakening Kyogre you can confront, battle, and possibly capture him deep in the Cave of Origins in Sootopolis City. He is at Level 45. In Ruby, after awakening Groudon you can confront, battle, and possibly capture him in the Cave of Origins in Sootopolis City. He is at Level 45.

Once you defeat the Elite Four, a new path will open up near Pacifilog Town. The new path leads to Sky Pillar. At the very top of this tower of weak floors is Rayquaza at a monstrous Level 70.
