A very common type early on in each game is the Bug-type. This type at first looks rather useless like the Fighting-type, but like the same type you must pick out the good from the bad.

Bug Pokemon are pretty much all rounded fighters. They can deal a hit or two and take a hit or two. There are a lot of Pokemon out there with the Bug-type that should not be used simply because they cannot take a hit or are generally worthless in actual combat. Most of them are really fragile, so it is best to pick the one that hits quick and hard.

There are a lot of powerful Bug-type moves, but the thing is is that they can only be learned by a few Pokemon of the actualy type so that kinda brings down their greatness a bit.
