The Fire-type is one of the original fifteen elemental types introduced during Generation I. Pokemon-wise, it is one of the types with the fewest known members. This type is both a blessing and a curse. The blessing of the Fire-type is that these Pokemon are generally powerful and speedy creatures, meaning this can do massive damage relatively fast. The curse is they are typically rare and have horrid defensive capabilities, meaning that they can be taken out quickly. Generally speaking, Fire Pokemon must attack quickly to have any use against Pokemon that they are not effective against. There are eighteen Fire-type moves in the Pokemon world. Fire-type moves are powerful and may burn your opponent now and then. The only downside is they have low PP and only suitable for a quick match. Two of these moves do not do damage; however, one move increases the power of Fire-types while the other moves inflicts a terrible burn, similar to Toxic. Popular Fire-type Pokemon include Charizard, Ho-oh, Blaziken, and Infernape. Flamethrower and Fire Blast are popular moves for Fire Pokemon and non Fire-types alike.
