Ice-type Pokemon are one of the rarer types of the games with very few species found in each region. Offensively, Ice-type Pokemon are very good. Most if not all fully evolved Ice Pokemon learn Ice Beam, a move that is very, very effective against Dragon Pokemon. Most Ice Pokemon can learn a variety of moves as well making them quite popular. With the exception of lower staged Pokemon, most Ice Pokemon have very defenses as well. Many Ice Pokemon are capable of learning Rest naturally, along with several other defensive moves like Confuse Ray.
